The Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library just wrapped a busy month with three Thursday evening programs and a Friday genealogical “lock-in.”
Programs continue this month. At 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, Lynn Forney Young will present “100 Years Since the Armistice: Sharing the Story of World War I.”
OCTOBER—Rockdale native Greg Lawson wrapped up the big month Thursday with a program on the paranormal.
Lawson, a paranormal researcher, also signed copies of his books.
Also during October, Dr. Steven Gonzales, executive director of the El Camino Real de los Tejas Trail Association, presented a program on the famous “highway” which came through Milam County.
The library hosted a genealogy “lock-in” presented by the Waco-McLennan County Library.
October began with the program “The Scary Truth About Chemicals” by Curah Beard.
SPEAKER—Lynn Forney Young is Honorary President General of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
She has been appointed to the United States Semiquincentennial Commission, a prestigious national commission created to plan celebrations and commemorations surrounding the 250th anniversary of the United States in July, 2026.
She’s a past President General of the DAR, serving from 2013-2016.
