Milano Rah-Rah Camp this year will be held July 30-31 at the Milano Elementary Gym. It will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day and is for girls enrolled in Pre-K through fifth grade. Cost is $30 per child and includes a T-shirt. Siblings are only $20 each after first child’s registration.
If you are unable to attend camp, you may still participate as a rah-rah girl by purchasing a T-shirt for $15. Orders for shirts are due July 30 or can be mailed to Becky Thurman, 500 N. Fifth St., Milano TX 76556.
Registration forms can be found at www.milanoisd.net. Shirts will be available at Meet the Eagles on Aug. 19.
MEET THE TEACHERS—Milano ISD’s Meet the Teachers event will also be held Aug. 19, starting at 5 p.m.
AG BOOSTERS—Milano/Gause Ag Boosters has started their fall “Freezer Full of Meat” fundraiser. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20.
Prizes includes freezer, processed pig, turkey, and chicken, along with processing cost cuts. Drawing will be held Oct. 19 and winner need not be present to win.
Winner chooses processing cuts and processing will be Nov. 25 at Westphalia Meat Market. Let me know if you need tickets.
SUNFLOWER FUN RUN—The Sunflower Fun Run/Walk benefiting the Melodie Hope Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund is set for Sept. 28 at Davidson Creek Park in Caldwell. The kids’ one-mile fun run is at 9 a.m. and the 5K Sunflower run will start at 9:30 a.m.
Prices are $30 for the 5K and $25 for the Kids Run. Guaranteed T-shirt if registered by Sept. 1.
Please wear bright colors the day of the race. Sunflowers, crazy socks and tutus are encouraged. Registration will also be available on race day from 8-8:45 a.m.
