If you weren’t in the Christmas spirit before attending the weekend’s activities in Rockdale, bet you are now.
Saturday featured a night parade, Santa ate breakfast with kids at the Patterson Center and visited the I&GN Depot and there was an afternoon of music Sunday in the annual Christmas at the Kay.
Parade winners were announced by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, as follows:
Presidential award, Milam County Sheriff’s Department Brown Santa; Best decorated overall, Milam County CrimeStoppers; Best decorated vehicle, Kindred Hospice; Best religious, New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church; Best decorated float, Rockdale Chamber of Commerce with Fair pageant royalty; Best out-of-town float, Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce.
Participants in Christmas at the Kay were the Communities in Concert Band, David and Laura Wilman, soloists Tami Stockton, Annette Griesbach and Mona Butala, First Presbyterian Church Choir and Rising Star Baptist Church Choir.
