On Monday evening, Rockdale High School coaches presented “most valuable player” awards at their annual Fall Banquet this past week in the RHS Gymnasium.
Madalynne Brinkman was named Cheerleader of the Year by sponsor Debra Neal while coach Hudson Evans announced Jimena Luna was the school’s Trainer of the Year. RHS juniors Jesus Bocanegra and Ciara Miles each earned Runner of the Year award, while Yolianna Castillo was named volleyball’s MVP.
For football, Gerren Marrero was named the most valuable player.
Rockdale Tiger Athletic Boosters also gave a “Business of the Year” Award to Riot, a bitcoin mining company that operates within RISD. This was the first banquet hosted by new head football coach Hunter Hamrick, who was hired last month. Due to his just arriving at RHS, football awards were presented by David Monroe and Ryan Montalvo.
