The public is invited to a 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 program in the Rockdale High School gym honoring all area veterans.
“Please join Rockdale ISD students, faculty, and staff in honoring and thanking all who have served in the United States Armed Forces,” Allen Sanders, RISD spokesman, said.
The Veterans Day Ceremony this year is again be a joint effort with all four schools presenting at one location
“Our bands, elementary students, intermediate students and campus school clubs will perform for our local veterans and their families. The Rock-dale Community and surrounding areas are invited to attend,” Sanders said.
The program will be followed by a luncheon for our Veterans and their spouses at the Rockdale Junior High Commons, beginning at 12-noon.
As always we look forward to honoring those who sacrificed so much while protecting our nation, and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice,” Sanders said.
“We look forward to seeing you there,” he added.
BREAKFAST—The next day, Friday, Nov. 9, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Auxiliary, will host a free breakfast for veterans and the community.
Serving is from 7 to 10:30 a.m.
“We are grateful for our community to support our veterans,” Auxiliary spokesperson Donna Diver said. “This is just a small token of our gratitude.”
