Saturday was the more or less official kickoff to the holiday season in Rockdale, highlighted by the first Whistle Stop Wine Tour, sponsored by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce.
Shuttles carried tour-goers to several locations around town where wineries had set up their wares, including Wolf Park which served as headquarters for the day.
At the park there were food and crafts booths and the adjacent stage was home to musicians including the Communities in Concert Band, Treble Soul and headliner Austin Giorgio.
There were also activities at the I&GN Depot Museum.
Sponsors for the event are Aaron’s, Bitmain, Brett’s Backyard Barbecue, KSA Engineering, Perry & Perry Builders, Texas Electric, Mr. Liquor, Rockdale Signs, and Engie.
Rockdale’s Christmas Parade will be Dec. 14.
