Milano/Gause Ag Booster Club will host a teen dance on Sunday at the Patterson Center in Rock-dale. Cost is $5 per person and includes ages 13-19. No re-entry allowed. The New Connection DJ will provide tunes from 8-11 p.m.

MISS FLAME—Bethanie Compton has been named the new Milano Volunteer Fire Department’s Miss Flame. She is the daughter of Powell and Stacey Compton. First runner-up was Malinda Storey. MVFD Assistant Chief Travis Yoakum was on hand for the presentation.

RAMSEY CLASS—Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University class will start soon in Milano. Neile Briden will be conducting the class that begins Sunday, June 9, and will be held each Sunday for nine weeks. Times are form 4 to 6 p.m. and Milano High School. Cost for the class is $109. GOLF TOURNEY—Wet weather has caused the annual Milano ISD scholarship golf tournament to be scheduled for a second time. The event will now be held Saturday, June 22. It will still take place at the Rockdale Country Club. Cost is $75 per player and is a four-person scramble event. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Prizes will be handed out for first through third place teams, longest drive, closest to the pin and hole-in-one. Limited to first 18 teams, breakfast and light lunch provided. Hole sponsorships are available for $120.

of Milano’s Fourth of July parade has been announced. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. from the MISD football field and winding through downtown, finishing up at the civic center with a free hot dog lunch with all of the trimmings.

Parade winners will be announced during the meal. Line up begins at 9:30 a.m. and judging starts at 10 a.m.

YOUTH FOOTBALL—Milano Youth Football is accepting registration for the 2019 season. Flag football is $70 per player, $100 for tackle and cheer is $30. Forms are available at the Milano schools this week. For more information, contact Robert Spencer, 254-231-1667, or DJ Magee, 281-381-0166.

FUN RUN/WALK—The Sunflower Fun Run/Walk benefiting the Melodie Hope Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund is set for Sept. 28 at Davidson Creek Park in Caldwell. The kids’ one-mile fun run is at 9 a.m. and the 5K Sunflower run will start at 9:30 a.m. Prices are $30 for the 5K and $25 for the Kids Run.

Guaranteed T-shirt if registered by Sept. 1. Please wear bright colors the day of the race. Sunflowers, crazy socks and tutus are encouraged. Registration will also be available on race day from 8-8:45 a.m.
