TAY LOR—Lois A nn (Pope) Haag was born on Ma r ch 23 , 1947, in Newnan, Georgia, to John and Gwen Pope. She passed away on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026. She and her family moved to Angleton in 1959, where Lois met James Haag. They were wed on Feb. 9, 1964, and were married for 62 years.

They moved to Taylor in 1967 and lived in Taylor, Round Rock and Rockdale before retiring back to Taylor.

They had two children, Barry and Brenda. She was a wonderful mom and grandmother, known best as “Nannie” to her family. She loved watching the grandkids’ activities and events.

Lois was a homemaker and substitute teacher at Thrall ISD.

She loved taking care of her family and had a passion for cooking. Her pies and sugar cookies were legendary at family holiday gatherings.

She was a long-time member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale and the Hutto Lutheran Church, where she served on the Church Council, several committees and taught VBS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Gladys Aden; and a brother David Pope.

She is survived by her husband, James; son Barry Haag and wife Kristi; daughter Brenda Graham and husband Chris; grandsons Blake Haag, Cole Haag, Bradley Graham, Stephen Graham; brother John Pope and wife Sharon; sister Shirley Tinnin and husband Dale; sister Patricia Miller; brother Billy Pope; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by her family tremendously. Memorials may be made to the Hutto Lutheran Church or the American Kidney Fund.

Visitation will be held at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19. The funeral will follow starting at 11 am. Burial will be at Taylor City Cemetery.
