Mrs. Molinare

Julie Molinare, beloved daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, passed away on Jan. 5, 2025, at the age of 74.

She was born on May 8, 1950, in Port Arthur to Jane t te Wheat Por ter a nd Alton Porter. After Alton’s untimely death, Janette married John Axe, who adopted Julie and her brother, Jim. Their sister, Melissa, was born two years later.

Julie and her siblings grew up in Austin.

Julie attended William B. Travis High School, where she was recognized by her peers as the “Queen of Travis.”

After graduation, she attended Texas Tech University, where she met her future husband, Larr y Molinare.

Julie dedicated her career to the insurance industry. She spent most of her career working with her mentor and close friend, Wayne Searcey, who fostered her expertise and specialization in bond insurance.

Julie will a lways be remembered as an exceptionally authentic and beautiful woman. Seeing her smile was absolute joy to those lucky enough to be loved by her.

Some of her favorite pastimes were classic movies, cooking, country music, cowboys, dancing at Arkey Blue’s Silver Dollar in Bandera, horses, and sitting on the porch gazing at the countryside.

Her parents predeceased her, but she is survived by her brother, Jim Axe; her sister, Melissa Brandes; her daughter, Shanna Molinare; her son-in-law, Harold Liller Jr.; her grandchildren, Hayden and Ryan Liller; and her close friends, Laura Clark, Madge McNamara, and Erin Woodard.

A celebration of Julie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Vista Brewing, 13551 RM 150, Driftwood, TX 78619.
