Janice Nell Rogers, 71, of Rockdale, went to be with our Lord on We d n es d ay, Nov. 2, 2022, at 7:12 p.m. af ter battling cancer for over two years.
A memorial service for Janice is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19, at Forest Grove Christian Church.
Janice was born Dec. 13, 1950, to Nellie Myrle Tucker Diver and Clarence Diver, and was the fourth of five children.
Janice graduated from Rockdale High in 1969 and later married Wayne Rogers on March 31, 1978.
They had four boys between them—Marcus, Clayton, Cory and wife Lorie, and Richard and wife Denise. The youngest child was their daughter Wendy.
Janice’s unwavering love for Christ was evident in every relationship and in everything she said and did.
She was an amazing wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved, and was truly loved by, the many children she cared for and instructed in her home, Sunday School and VBS all of her years. Her kindness and generosity was extended to everyone, including God’s creatures. Janice loved feeding and watching her birds, her family was so loved and important to her.
Janice remained devoted to her life-long church, Forest Grove, where she was a member since birth. Her relationship with her Lord Jesus could be seen in all aspects of her life, and people who were close to Janice can attest to the fact that she truly was a woman with a heart for Christ, who was, and is, referred to as an “angel” and “salt of the earth.”
Janice is survived by her husband, Wayne; her children, Marcus and wife Delaine and daughter, Wendy; her brother, Charles and wife Donna; and her sister, Helen; also, many nieces and nephews, 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
This world has lost a bit of sparkle, but the heavens now shine a little brighter. She made such a positive impact on all who knew her, making us all a little better. There is no doubt the many lives she touched will illuminate with the love she gave so freely. Janice was on loan to us as a gift from God who wholly embodied God’s definition of love.
