Whitley Boyd will be representing Rockdale in the 2021 Miss Texas competition on June 26 as Miss Rockdale Fair. The Miss Texas Scholarship Program is part of the Miss America Organization.

Milano announces lone finalist for superintendent

Dr. Elisabeth Avila Luevanos is the lone finalist for the superindentent's job that will be open at the end of this school year. Robert Westbrook is retiring from the position at the end of this school year, the district said. Luevanos has been in education for over 15 years.

49 COVID-19 positives found in Rockdale

Ninety-six individuals were tested in Rockdale and forty-nine were positive, which is a 51% positivity rate. In the past 28 days of testing we have now tested 1,194 individuals with 346 positive results, with an overall positivity rate of 29%.

COVID-19 claims 10th life in Milam County

"I am saddened to report another death of a Milam County resident due to COVID. This brings our death toll to 10. In addition, we have a record 34 new positive cases to report;16 PCR cases and 18 antigen (probable) cases.

COVID-19 cases continue to rise

Another twenty new active cases were reported in Milam County on Wednesday; seven new PCR cases and thirteen new probable cases.  Nine PCR cases were discharged, and five probable cases were discharged.  No one was admitted to a hospital and no one was discharged.

COVID-19 cases keep climbing

COVID-19 cases in the county jumped by  twenty-four new active cases to report in Milam County on Monday. There are twelve new PCR cases and twelve new probable cases.  Four PCR cases were discharged, and one probable case was discharged.

ONE NEW CASE WEDNESDAY

From County Judge Steve Young Wednesday night: Wednesday we have one new PCR case and three antigen cases to report.  Those being monitored were increased substantially by fourteen.  No one was admitted to a hospital. We tested six individuals with one positive result.

TUESDAY REPORT: TWO NEW CASES

 From County Judge Steve Young Tuesday night: Tuesday we had two new PCR cases and two new probable cases to report in Milam County.  One person was admitted to an area hospital as well.  We tested nineteen individuals in Thorndale  with two positive results.

EIGHT NEW CASES TUESDAY

From County Judge Steve Young Tuesday night:\ Tuesday we have eight new confirmed cases of the virus in Milam County.  In addition we have two probable cases.  Nine active cases were discharged and five were added to the monitored list.
