While we’re all still on a high from the July 4th fireworks show that Whinstone provided, it’s a good time to make note of the good deeds this company, under the leadership of Chad Harris, has done for our town.

Beware the dreaded English contronyms

If you grew up with English as your first language you are lucky because it is very difficult to learn having so many quirks. And all these quirks can be confusing. One quirk is that English is filled with words that have contradictory meanings, or what is linguistically referred to as contronyms.

Dramatic economic developments in the county

As we begin to come out of the pandemic, I am pleased to report that our economics are really improving. Things slowed during the worst of the pandemic, but our local economy is growing, businesses are expanding, our unemployment rate is low and there are lots of available jobs in the county.

10-20-40-100 YEARS AGO 100 YEARS AGO... The complete faculty for the 1921-22 session of the Rockdale Public Schools had been elected. The board felt that it had selected teachers that will give students of the schools one of the most enjoyable year’s work it ever has had.
