Carlyle Post 358, gun range reopening with classes on Saturday American Legion Carlyle Post 358 and the gun range are reopening. Members have resumed regular meetings with masks and social distancing. License-to-carry classes are now available with discounts for Post members.

Downsizing for Jesus

We have been blessed with four kids but their birthdates are so far apart it’s like we raised two different families. Miller, our oldest son who is a Presbyterian minister is almost 37, and Klaire, our baby girl, is 22. You can imagine he was weirded out at 15 that his mom was pregnant.

Throughout the Old and New Testament, there are testimonies of God looking out for the poor, vulnerable, and defenseless. The Bible tells us that justice a key component to the ministry of Jesus Christ.

Lord’s Acre fundraiser set at St. John’s UMC St. John’s United Methodist Church will hold their annual Lord’s Acre fundraiser the week of Nov. 9-15 with both live and silent auctions. There will be a silent auction taking place the week of Nov. 9. Times are 5:30-7:30 p.m. Nov.

4-H participating in veterans event

The Milano 4-H Club is taking part in a countywide community service project for our Veterans. The group is making and will be mailing Veterans Day cards for veterans in our area.

A little pumpkin-y goodness never hurts

I’m the type of person who likes to eat one piece of pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving and then I don’t need to taste pumpkin again for another year. I do realize I am in the minority with that. But here are a few pumpkin recipes that sound good to me.

We went to the community center and got our annual flu shot for this year. Gause ISD students have an early release on Friday. Report cards go home on Nov. 11 and that will determine who will be participating in the sports activities. Thanksgiving holidays will be Nov. 23-27. Then on Dec.
