There is no good reason not to wear a mask

When you get out in public, there are two types of people; those wearing a face mask and those who are not. There are those who scoff at the idea of wearing a mask and compare the COVID virus to the flu. There are those who claim that wearing a mask is somehow more harmful than not wearing a mask.

Our turn when?

We are thrilled that Cameron is well on the way toward getting two new medical facilities which will establish much-needed “after hours” care for Milam County residents.

Play your part in getting rid of this virus

I hope Judge Young’s mask order works because I am so very tired of COVID-19. Sometimes I feel like my life is on hold. And it’s been on hold for far longer than I ever thought it would be.

A giant leap forward for Milam County

This week the Milam County Commissioners Court took historical action to go forward with the acquisition of the former Little River Hospital complex. The county will trade nine buildings it owns in downtown Cameron for the 8.5-acre complex.

With all these good veggies around this time of year we have eaten several vegetarian meals lately. Mom went to the farmers market on Saturday and they have a new guy. He had all kinds of canned BBQ sauces and marinara sauce.

Mask up

Every theory about why COVID-19 cases have surged in the past couple of weeks in Milam County is just that, a theory. But, as County Judge Steve Young has pointed out a number of times, certainly part of the problem is that too many people appear simply to not be taking the pandemic seriously.

Dear editor, Re: Raynard Churchwell’s June 11 Reporter column. Yes, a lot of it is very true. There are some who hate others for the color of their skin. I am a 79-year-old white man and I grew up around older white men who carried their dislike for others because of the color of their skin.
