Sometimes, when writing these articles for the Milam County Judge’s office, it can be easy to focus on one subject. Then, in other weeks, there are multiple issues that need addressed. This is one of those such weeks. First, let’s talk about town halls.

In the book of Isaiah is found this wondrous promise of God: “Before they call, I will answer, while they are yet speaking, I will hear” (65:24). I believe I can understand this promise because of a roadside experience I once had with a family of strangers. The year was 1975.

10-20-40-100 YEARS AGO 100 YEARS AGO… A point of interest: at no time during spring was there a single wiggler found in Ham Branch or any of its tributaries. This seemed to show that the committee on malarial control had done its work well and so pronounced the Health Department in Austin.

With this being the week of Memorial Day, I thought I would share the highlights of my remarks from the Memorial Day Ceremony at the courthouse Monday. My family has a long history of military service all the way back to the Revolutionary War and before.
