Cancer claims former Reporter editor Brown

Mike Brown, 72, who retired two years ago after a 46-year career with The Rockdale Reporter, including 22 years as editor, died shortly af ter 2 p.m. Tuesday at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple with his wife Sue by his side.

MDD makes changes to popular façade grant program

At Monday night’s MDD board of directors meeting a vote to extend the façade grants for East Bell Taphouse and the Christian Information Book Store was granted unanimously. Each business needs only a few more months to finish their final touches.

Rockdale Earth Day’s Yard of the Month goes to Rafa and Angi Lara at 427 West Davilla. Rockdale Earth Day Chairman David Melton described the yard as, “Beautiful hanging baskets, potato vine, yard art and an assortment of both annuals and perennials make for a wonderful setting.

RJH students working on several projects

Rockdale Junior High has had a great start. Band, athletics, student council, cheer, volleyball, and football are in full swing. I want to share some exciting learning that is happening on this campus.

Two felony arrests made by Rockdale Police during week

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests during the past seven days including: • Thomas Luna, 35, Rockdale, was arrested on Wednesday by Ofc. Parker for a warrant for burglary of a building and criminal mischief ($30,000 to $150,000).
