Athletic physicals for the 2022-2023 school year

Parents and Athletes, As the spring semester comes to an end, it is time for all students planning to participate in athletics for the 2022-23 school year to update their paperwork. Incoming 7th, 9th and 11th grades are required to have a physical.

Gause VFD barbecue fundraiser set for April 9

The Gause Volunteer Fire Department will hold a barbecue fundraiser on April 9 from 11 a.m. until sold out at 110 E. Gause Blvd. Plates include brisket, sausage, beans, potato salad, bread and all the fixings for $15 and will be available to dine in or takeout.

Each year The American Legion Post 358 and The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6525 honor the men from Milam County who lost their lives on the battlefields. They are placing flags in Bridge Park, and there will be one American flag for each individual who fell on the battlefields of the world.

Rockdale CoC banquet slated for April 28th

After a two-year hiatus, the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce will hold its banquet on April 28 at the New Salem Building in Fair Park starting at 6:30 p.m. with happy hour starting at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is “Fiesta, A Celebration of Community” and participants are encouraged to dress the part.

GRAND CHAMPION ALLY—The Milam County Junior Livestock Show held their baked goods food show on Saturday at the Youth Exposition Building. All FFA and 4-H members had the opportunity to bake a pie, cookies and/or a cake. Ally Andrews from Milano 4-H won the Grand Champion award for her pie entry.
