Rockdale VFD gets a high water capacity truck

Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department converted an excess military tactical vehicle into a firefighting machine. The large quantity of water that it will carry will help the department gain quick control of a fire.

The last round of turkey winners in the annual contest were announced recently by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce.

RPD makes five felony arrests during past week

The Rockdale Police Department made five felony arrests during the past week including: • Gracie Frank, 45, Rockdale, was arrested on Thursday by Officer Parker for a Milam County warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

FIRE CALLS

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • FM 1712/CR 300 for a one car rollover on Wednesday. • 5120 North FM 487 for a report of grass and trees on fire which turned out to be a brush pile that was accidentally set ablaze by fireworks on Saturday.

I am so glad the holidays are over. We did eat some wonderful food, but I am ready for something a little lighter. Noelia, her boys and I made tamales one day. That was my first time and they really came out well. I was in charge of spreading the masa. It’s time for some seafood.
