Council gives go ahead to hemp farm, boutique

At Monday night’s city council meeting the council members unanimously voted to allow James Simonton’s 3G Farm to open a retail store in the building next to Banda’s that used to be a nail salon. Simonton grows hemp products and will sell THC edibles, oils, creams and even textiles in his boutique.

Library receives $2,500 grant for more youth graphic novels

The Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library is kicking off the new year by celebrating with a $2,500 grant from the Dorothy Louise Kyler Foundation to purchase graphic novel children’s books for youth kindergarten through 12th grade.

Master Gardener classes Feb. 2nd

The Little River Basin Master Gardeners of Milam County is offering Master Gardener Classes starting February 2 every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cameron Chamber of Commerce. The fee for the class is $175 and the deadline for registration is January 20.

The Rockdale Police Department made four felony arrests during the past week including: • Tomas Lunch, 34, Rockdale, was arrested Monday on a warrant for unauthorized use of motor vehicle and a warrant for theft of property ($2,500 to $30,000).
