Casino Night set for Feb. 5

The Rotary Club’s Casino Night will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, at The Ranch at 6 p.m.. This event will raise money for local scholarships, intermediate school character building curriculum, leadership camp for local teens and Christmas for Senior Citizens to name a few.

Storm spotter training program to be held Jan. 12th

The 2022 severe weather season is not too far away, and the National Weather Service and local public safety officials want you to be ready. The National Weather Service will be conducting a free severe weather training class for Milam County on Wednesday Jan. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Thorndale High School junior Natalie Garcia never planned on playing college softball. Ending up with a Division I scholarship to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi? Definitely not planned either. “I never had the goal of going to college (for softball),” Garcia said laughing.
