Rockdale Earth Day to hold work day at RHS

Rockdale Earth Day volunteers will hold a day of service on Earth Day, April 22, from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers and students will meet at the RHS gymnasium and then be sent out in groups all over the community to pick up trash to help beautify Rockdale.

AA meets at Crossroads Bible Church weekly

Rockdale Peace Seekers AA meetings are at Crossroads Bible Church, 811 Burleson St. The meetings are scheduled on Tuesdays and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.

Girl Scouts of Central Texas start new project

The Girl Scouts of Central Texas (GSCTX) will celebrate their centennial, the 100th anniversary of the first Girl Scout troop formed in our area in 1921. As part of our centennial celebration, Girl Scouts are encouraged to participate in a council-wide service project.

St. Monica’s to hold BBQ fundraiser April 25

The St. Monica’s Ladies will hold a drive through barbecue chicken and Green’s sausage dinner on April 25 starting at 10 a.m. Plates are $10 and also include potato salad and beans. There will also be a prize drawing and sweet shop. St. Monica’s is located at 401 S. Karnes in Cameron.

Online series starting at St. Thomas Episcopal

St. Thomas Episcopal Church will host an adult series of online discussions centered on Duiarmaid MacCulloch’s book, “History of Christianity: The First Three Thousand Years” starting April 21 at 6:30 p.m. and lasting six weeks. You need not have read the book to participate in the program.
