Cameron’s Christmas Festival and Parade

Thursday December 1st -- Cameron's Christmas Festival and Parade! Our theme this year is "Musical Notes and Holiday Floats." Festivities kick off in our historic downtown square at 5:00 PM with music, food trucks, wine wagons, craft beer, arts, and crafts, and more. Vendors will be there before, during, and after the parade. Also, homemade chili, funnel cakes, tamales, tacos, kettle corn, and more. In addition, Holy Ground Baptist Church will have a Stuffed Animal Drive for McLane's Children's Hospital; please bring a new stuffed animal to donate.

Enjoy Live Christmas Music in the gazebo featuring Cameron's local favorite, South 77 Band, who will kick off at 5:00 PM. Stay tuned for Milam Community Youth Theater to perform a skit from their upcoming play Frozen at 5:30 PM. This will be performed in front of the announcer trailer on 1st Street.

At 6:00 PM Christmas Downtown Lighting Ceremony will begin with a brief ceremony thanking and recognizing the donors before Cameron Mayor Bill Harris flips the switch and lighs up the square with new Christmas Lights and Decor. The Cameron community came together to turn a dream into reality. In early 2022, an anonymous donor offered to match up to $50,000 in donations for lights on the Downtown square - to purchase, install and remove lights at the end of the season. The matching fund challenge was met and exceeded through generous gifts from individuals and businesses, the City of Cameron, and Milam County. In addition to the mall's central lights and decor, most Downtown business owners committed to participating by funding roofline lights for their buildings. All these people worked together to make Downtown Cameron a gathering place for the Holidays, where citizens & visitors will create memories to last a lifetime.

Then at 6:30 PM, the parade will start, and you don't want to miss all the fantastic floats, vehicles from our local businesses, and individuals that make Cameron come alive with Christmas-themed decorations and characters! Over 70 entries during the past five years of this grand parade.

United Portable Building has done it again and donated Santa's Workshop 10'x16' Cabin to raffle for fundraising for the Cameron Chamber of Commerce. This charming Cabin will be where Santa will be at 5:00 PM before and after the parade for photos. Remember to buy raffle tickets for Santa's Workshop! Tickets are $20 each or 6 for $100. Contact a Chamber Board member or call or drop by the Chamber office at 102 E 1st Street. Tickets will be on sale at the parade.

Don't forget to come back downtown for our other events this month to celebrate "Christmas in Cameron." Visit our website www.ChristmasinCameron.com or www.cameron-tx.com for updates and other events during December.

Remember to explore our downtown with all the new square lighting and businesses that will decorate the historic downtown. Then, drive around town to view beautifully decorated homes!

We invite you to stick around after the parade and fireworks to enjoy the music and vendors to shop for local items for Christmas gifts.
