Dear Motor Medics,  I’ve got a Nissan Titan and it has a ticking noise in the engine. It has had this for about a year and it doesn’t seem to get any louder, but it makes me nervous about taking it on trips far from home.

The Under the Hood Show Dear Motor Medics, I have a 2014 Ford F150 truck and I’ve lost the 4-wheel drive. The front end of the truck started to grind for a while before it finally stopped completely.

Dear Motor Medics,  I have a car that needs a timing belt, and it is going to cost over $1,000 to change. That sounds crazy to me.  I have had belts changed before on my cars and they have never been more than $50 but none of my cars have had timing belts.

Dear Motor Medics,  I have a 2018 Toyota SUV I am going to drive across country and back and will accumulate about 8,000 miles on the odometer by the time I return.  This vehicle has 45k miles on it and has not had any problems as of yet and no repairs other than tires and oil changes.

Looking back...

100 YEARS AGO… Plans for the American Legion’s annual 4th of July celebration are rapidly being whipped into shape, and the indications now are that unusually large crowds will be in attendance on all three days—July 4-5-6.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Dear editor, As outgoing president, I want to thank the residents, friends and travelers who attended Rockdale Homecoming. Four generations were present to celebrate their friendships and their stories and reflect on the positive changes in Rockdale.

The Under the Hood Show Dear Motor Medics,  I used the remote start on my 2004 Chevy Silverado to warm it up the other morning and came out to find my interior filled with smoke. I did not see smoke coming out of any area, so I aired it out and drove to work.

Dear Motor Medics, My question is about wipers on both the front and rear of my vehicle. I have a 2004 Chrysler Town & Country and the front wipers have stopped working three years in a row now in mid-winter, requiring replacing the wiper motor each time.
