Dear Motor Medics, I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.0 six-cyl inder engine that failed. This is the first time I have ever had to replace an engine in a vehicle and with fairly low miles and a faithful maintenance history, I am shocked that it failed.

Dear Motor Medics, My new job has taken me to an unfamiliar city hundreds of miles away from home, where I don’t know anyone. I have a good running car, but I owe that to the great care that my repair shop has given me over the years. It’s a 2019 Taurus with 98,000 miles.

Dear Motor Medics, I have a 1994 Stealth RT without a turbo-charged engine. I have gone through two new batteries in a short period of time. Is it possible that a failing alternator can ruin a battery? If so I would like to know if there is a way to check if the alternator has failed.

Dear Motor Medics, I heard you guys on a recent show discussing vehicle warm-up times and heard you say it was not necessary to warm up a fuel-injected vehicle. I thought that all vehicles should be warmed up to get the oil flowing at least a little bit.

Dear Motor Medics, I have a question aboutmufflers. Letme start by saying I am 72 years young and drive a 2003 GMC 3/4-ton diesel truck. This thing is mint and I have about every gadget known to man installed on it. What I have not done is modify the exhaust.
