INCREASED LAW ENFORCEMENT PRESENCE FOR TRAINING – ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL JUNE 28 & 30. MILAM COUNTY SHERIFF SCHOOL SAFETY INITIATIVE

Given the horrific events related to the active shooter in Uvalde, TX on 24 May 2022, the law enforcement community, school districts, and citizens have an overwhelming urge to develop immediate solutions to better safeguard our schools and children. The Milam County Sheriff’s Office, along with our partner agencies, are taking the initiative over the next three months to facilitate training opportunities for first responders responding to critical incidents in our schools. 

This operation will focus on allowing first responders the opportunity to responded to scenario-based situations involving critical incidents in a safe and controlled environment.  This training supports the School Safety Initiative's goals to Enhance Response Capabilities, Enhance Safety Procedures for Staff  and and Participants and Enhance Collaboration and Safety Operations in schools. 

During this training there will be an increased law enforcement presence at Rockdale High School.

Additional training locations at other schools and districts will be announced as they are scheduled.
