MEDAL OF VALOR

Five of Rockdale’s Finest were honored at Monday night’s city council meeting with the Medal of Valor. An act of valor is considered to be above and beyond the call of duty, exhibiting exceptional courage, extraordinary decisiveness and presence of mind along with unusual swiftness of action, regardless of his or her personal safety, in an attempt to save or protect human life.

From (L-R) Officer Stephen Wall was honored in recognition of his selfless attempt to protect the life of a fellow officer on May 11. Rockdale Police Chief Jerry Meadors, Captain Stephen Goodrich and Sergeant Michael Hubnik in recognition of their selfless acts to preserve the lives of citizens in Rockdale on June 1.
