The family of Torrance Huggins, a 1996 graduate of Rockdale High, celebrates his daughter, Nyalah Hug gins graduation from the University of Texas in San Antonio, on May 18. Nyalah (21) studied English and art and is looking forward to working with a publishing company in San Antonio, Texas.
Her dad, Torrance Huggins, re tired from the Marine Corps after 20 years of service as Chief Warrant Officer 3. He received many awards while serving as Systems Integration Officer, First Marine Expeditionary Force, information group. His many tours included Afghanistan, Germa ny, Iraq, Qatar of the Persian Gulf, Djibouti which is in East Africa.
Nyalah’s mother, Amy Huggins, is a nurse at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
Her older brother, Julen Huggins, is stationed at a Marine based in Yuma, Arizona, as an aircraft me chanic, and her younger brother, Torrance II is attending college at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Nyalah is the granddaughter of Mary Smith Huggins, of Rockdale.
