The Rockdale Fair Association this year has awarded a total of nine scholarships to Milam County seniors, including one in memory of a late Rockdale businessman who was the first RFA president.
Scholarships totaled $13,500 and were listed as follows:
• $2,000 to Caitlin Garcia, graduate of Thorndale High School.
She is the daughter of Eric and Becky Garcia and plans to attend Texas A&M. Her major is Health Communications.
• $2,000 to Keaton Popham, graduate of Milano High School. He is the son of Clint and Dorcas Popham.
He plans to attend Texas A&M. His major is Petroleum Engineering.
• $1,750 to Carlee Kae Morgan, graduate of Rock-dale High School. She is the daughter of Scott and Torrin Morgan.
She plans to attend Sam Houston State University. Her major is Ag Business.
• $1,750 to Patrick Dean, graduate of Rock-dale High School. He is the son of James and Susan Dean.
He plans to attend Texas A&M. His major is Ag Business.
• $1,500 to Keagan Galvan, graduate of Cameron Yoe High School. She is the daughter of Jamie and Jamie Lea Galvan.
She plans to attend Texas State University. Her major is Nursing.
• $1,500 to Logan Fisher, graduate of Thorndale High School.
He is the son of Terry and Bethany Fisher and plans to attend Texas Lutheran University.
His major is Kinesiology and minor is Business.
• $1500 to Bryce Brashear, graduate of Cameron Yoe High School. He is the son of Ann Glaser and James Brashear.
He plans to attend Texas State University. His major is Exercise and Sports Science.
• $750 to James “Rusty” Condry, graduate of Cameron Yoe High School. He is the son of James and Christi Condry.
He plans to attend Trinity Valley Community College. His major is Farm and Ranch Management.
• $750 to Cooper Meinardus, graduate of Buckholts High School. He is the son of Davis and Avery Meinardus.
He plans to attend Blinn Junior College then Texas A&M. His major is Civil Engineering.
This Scholarship was given by Janell Vogelpohl, Sandy Neuendorff and Cindy Vogelpohl in memory of Bill Vogelpohl.
Bill Vogelpohl, who died in 2015, was the first RFA president and presided over the first three Fairs.
