For you are with me

“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.” (Luke 1:46-47) I know people think my life is perfect (just kidding) but I’m suffering in a valley and I’ve been there for a while and it’s not much fun. I’ve got decisions to make and I don’t have much clarity.

Do we have one more gift to give?

It happens to so many of us at Christmas time. We have spent hours trying to remember everyone in our family and among our friends to whom we shall give a Christmas gift. The presents are wrapped and placed beneath the boughs of the Christmas tree.

Victim's son arrested

Colton Brady Coufal, 26, Cameron was placed in jail on a bond surrender for possession of a controlled substance. He is the son of homicide victim Christi Warrick Coufal. He was arrested on Wednesday and is still in the Milam County jail according to Sheriff Mike Clore.

Lone Star Jazz Party Saturday

Vision Historic Preservation Foundation will present a unique fundraising event called the Lone Star Jazz Party at The 1895 (old city hall) on Burleson Street in historic downtown Rockdale on Saturday, Dec. 11.

Christmas at the Kay set for Sunday

Christmas at the Kay will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Historic Kay Theatre. This year will be the ninth annual performance after a year hiatus because of COVID.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA—The Rockdale Chamber o Commerce held another popular event this year at th Patterson Civic Center on Saturday morning with the goo folks at the Rockdale McDonald’s providing delicious pan cakes, milk and juice for all the children.

MTOL fundraiser Saturday at Brett’s

The Milam Touch of Love, a non-profit group that saves domestic pets all over Milam County, will have a fundraiser on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Brett’s Backyard Bar-B-Que. Chili and cornbread will be served for $10 (available all day) and K9 Beer will be provided by the Texas Beer Co.

Sheriff investigates woman found dead in San Gabriel River

The Milam County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a woman who was reported missing was found dead in the San Gabriel River near Apache Pass. County Sheriff Mike Clore is investigating the death of Christi Warrick Coufal, 55, of Cameron as a homicide.
