NEW YORK, NY—John French Crow, M.D., 82, passed away peacefully on Nov. 4, 2025, in New York City.
Dr. Crow was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Rockdale.
He was a 1961 graduate of Rockdale High School and furthered his education at Davidson College in North Carolina and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Following medical school, Dr. Crow devoted more than half a century to the practice of psychiatry and psychoanalysis in New York City.
A long-time member of the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute, he was respected for his clinical insight, intellectual rigor and dedication to his patients and colleagues.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Olesker; his children, Charlotte, David and William; and grandchildren Jack, Henry and Kate.
He is also survived by his siblings, Jane and Jim.
Outside of his professional life, John was an ardent fan of the New York Giants, following the team with the same passion that marked his life and work.
A private memorial service was held Nov. 22 in New York City.
