Jasper David Cork, age 83, went to his eternal resting place on July 27, 2025, at his home in Lexington (Forest Grove Community).
He was born on July 15, 1942, in Starkville, Mississippi, to Eunice and J.D. Cork and lived there for most of his younger years.
He met his wife, Gail, and they were married on March 29, 1959. This union was blessed with three girls. They later moved to Texas, where David worked as a heavy equipment operator, raised cattle and made a home with his family.
David made countless trips back to Starkville to see his family and friends.
He was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church, where he served as an elder for many years. His faith was an important part of who he was and he made sure to pass that along to his family.
Some of his favorite stories included time spent in a deer stand, a field or on the water with friends and family hunting and fishing.
David enjoyed traveling with his wife, Gail whom he loved dearly. He took countless trips to Colorado deer hunting and Argentina for dove hunting.
Dav id loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sunday lunches meant family gathered around after church, with him at the head of the table.
David was preceded in death by his mother and father; Eunice and JD Cork.
David is survived by his wife, Gail Cork; three daughters, Robin Exner and husband Mickey of Lexington, Lisa Greenway and husband Kent of Rockdale, Amy Pillack and husband David of Lexington; grandchildren Ashley Priem and husband Ryan of Llano, Matthew Exner of Lexington, Jessica Clifton and husband Kyle of Mont Belvieu, Holly Rosales and husband Jesse of Lexington, London Jacob and wife Bailey of Lexington, and Victoria Mathis of Lexington; great-grandchildren Addison Priem, Jett Priem, Jagger Priem, Kylan Clifton, Khloe Clifton, Kase Clifton, Keira Clifton, Porter Jacob, Pyrce Jacob and Paisley Rosales; sisters Margaret Smith and husband Dwight of Tylertown, MS, and Beth Morgan of Starkville, MS.
He also leaves behind countless other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services for David will be held at Forest Grove Christian Church at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, with Pastor Lance Walch officiating with a burial service immediately after at Forest Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors an hour prior to services at the church.
Pallbearers will be London Jacob, Matthew Exner, Ryan Priem, Jesse Rosales, Porter Jacob and Pyrce Jacob.
