CASE TOTAL GOES TO 46

More testing scheduled in Rockdale, Milano, Cameron

 County Judge Steve Young said early Monday afternoon there are two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Milam County, bringing the total to 46. "Neither are hospitalized, but both will self quarantine at home for 14 days," he said.

There are 11 active cases, but none in the hospital. Young said one person who was hospitalized last week has now been released.

 The Milam County Health Department is monitoring 48 individuals. "We anticipate more cases this week," Young said.

  "The cases have come from every part of the county. Confirmed cases have been reported from residents in Buckholts, Thorndale, Rockdale, Milano, Gause, Marlow, Burlington, Cameron and many places in between," he said.

MORE TESTING—Young said more free testing will be as follows:

  •  Rockdale – June 29, former Rockdale hospital, 1700 Brazos.

  •  Milano – June 30, Milano Fire Station-305 East US 79.

  •  Cameron, July 1, Cameron Fire Station, 505 North Travis.

  NURSING HOMES—Young said testing was recently done of all the residents and staff at each Milam nursing home, Legacy, Winnie L and Renaissance Villa. "So far all of the tests have been negative, although there are 4 tests that are still outstanding," he said,
