Fair Park rocks the Fourth

Despite some heavy afternoon rain, the annual Fourth of July celebration was a crowd pleasing success with music, food, conversation and a fireworks show to top it all off.
In the top photo, the Communities in Concert Band performed a number of tunes that included patriotic marches as well as pop tunes from such groups as the Beach Boys. The band is made up of musicians from Rockdale, Milano, Thorndale, Cameron, Caldwell and Taylor.
The fireworks thrilled the crowds that earlier had enjoyed burgers, hot wings and turkey legs from an area vendor on the grounds. Earlier in the evening, kids played games like ring-toss, cornhole and basketball for prizes. A DJ supplied the tunes while the kids played the games.
