County waiting on new doses of COVID-19 vaccine

County Judge Steve Young said  that the county should get 600 doses of the vaccine for next week.

“Although we do not yet have confirmation, we will set up two clinics to administer the doses, which will be Jan. 27 and Jan. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The first 600 individuals on our list will be contacted in the coming days and scheduled for their shot. There will be no walk in,” he said in an email.

“We were able to compile our COVID infection numbers. This is the first time in a week or so, since we turned the contact tracing over to the State. We do not count a case as active until we verbally confirm with the infected person that they did in fact, test positive,” Young said. “Since we turned this over to the state there are quite a few people who did not answer the State’s tracing call and thus, we have cases, but not yet confirmed, which is called an ‘open case.”’
