COVID-19 vaccinations today for 300 on the list

Today Milam County will administer 300 first round doses at the former Cameron hospital located at 806 N. Crocket from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will be done by appointment only. The first 300 people on the waiting list have been contacted. If you have been called, go to http://www.milamcounty.net/page/milam.COVID19 and download the three required consent forms; Adult Immtrac consent form; and Immtrac 3 Immunization Registry Retention Consent form. Complete the forms and bring the completed forms to the vaccination clinic. This will save a lot of time. However, There will be forms available at the vaccination site.

To get on the COVID vaccination waiting list, call 254 697 7000 or email Amy Guillen at aguillen@milamcounty.net . Once on the list, you will get a call to schedule your appointment, when it is your turn.

Wednesday 17 individuals were tested in Milano with 7 positive results. Overall, the county has tested 2,850 individuals with 838 positive infections which is a 29% positivity rate. Today's testing is underway in Cameron at the Cameron VFD. It continues until 3 p.m. Milam County residents with COVID symptoms may go by to get a free antigen test.

Since the pandemic began there have been 1,974 confirmed infections in Milam County, which is about 8% of the population. The numbers are up today. There are 67 active cases in the county. There are 11 new PCR cases and 22 new probable cases; 27 individuals were discharged from the active list; and two individuals were discharged from a local hospital.
