HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH— Rockdale Mayor Ward Roddam read a proclamation at Monday night’s city council meeting proclaiming September as Hispanic Heritage Month. On hand for the celebration are (L-R) RISD kindergarten teacher Lorena Navarro and her daughter, Regina Castillo, a fourth-grader at Rockdale Intermediate School who also read A Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi for the invocation at the meeting, Roddam, and Rockdale’s first Latina city councilwoman, Esmeralda Ruelas-Olivares.
