Hospitalization rate drops below 15%

The hospitalization rate dropped below 15%, for the first time in about 6 weeks to 14.52%. 

"If we stay at 15% or lower for 7 consecutive days, the business occupancy rate will go back to 75% and the bars can reopen," County Judge Steve Young said in his daily email.

Wednesday the county will operate a second-round clinic at the former Cameron Hospital location.

"We will vaccinate 74 individuals for their second round," Young said. "On Saturday, we will vaccinate about 260 individuals in Rockdale for their second-round shots. This will be done at the former Rockdale Clinic."

Tuesday's testing reveal 3 new cases out of 24 people tested in Thorndale. So far, 2,987 individuals have been tested with 870 positive infections which is a 29% positivity rate.

Countywide numbers:

We now have 132 active infection in the County which is up 28 cases from yesterday. This is the most active infections we have had since the first of January 2021. One individual was admitted to a local hospital.
