Milam County breaks highest record of COVID cases

Today, we set a record high number of cases since COVID-19 began in March 2020 at 320 confirmed, active cases in the county. This is 53 more cases than the previous record high of 267 set back in December 2020. 

We have 125 new confirmed, active cases in the county with 64 discharged cases. Two individuals were hospitalized and one person is on a ventilator. 

Today in Rockdale we tested 111 individuals with 68 positive or a 61.3% positivity rate. This is a higher positivity rate than last Thursday. We will next test again in Cameron on Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Cameron Fire Station beginning at 9 a.m.
