Milam County continues to vaccinate against COVID-19

Milam County now has 30.2% of Milam County fully vaccinated. Including those who have been infected and therefore have immunity, the county immunity rate is at 39.7%. There have 7,321 individuals who have received at least one shot and 5,954 have received both shots, according to Milam County Steve Young's daily email.

"Milam County has and will continue to make the vaccination process as simple as possible. All one needs to do is call 254 697 7000 and we will make an appointment or simply go to one of the walk-in clinics. The vaccination process takes about 30 minutes and it is free and virtually painless," he said. "In the coming days, we will begin having mini-walkin clinics at different locations throughout the county. We plan to come to Buckholts, Gause, Milano, Davilla and other places to give shots. We also plan to offer a Saturday morning clinic in the very near future. In addition, we are making arrangements with various businesses in the County to vaccinate at the workplace, for the convenience of the employees. The point is that we want everyone to get vaccinated. Protect yourself, your family, your friends and your community – get vaccinated."

Thursday the county will do first round Moderna shots in Rockdale at the former Rockdale Medical Clinic, located at 1700 Brazos. If you want to get vaccinated, just walk in or call 254 697 7000 and make an appointment.

If you are called to be vaccinated please arrive at your appointed time with your consent forms completed. There are different forms for the first round shot and different forms for the second round shot. You may download the forms by going to our web site address as set forth below:
