Milam County sheriff resigns

Chris White has resigned as sheriff of Milam County as of Monday.

He gave Milam County Judge Steve Young his resignation Monday afternoon saying it was effective immediately.

White was reelected to his second term in November of the past year.

Young has named Chief Deputy Mike Clore as the acting sheriff. The commissioners will discuss the resignation at their March 8 meeting, Young said.
