Rockdale working to keep water towers, wastewater plant going

The Rockdale Public Works Department is working in this period of unprecedented cold to keep the water towers and wastewater plant operational. So far, the city has been successful through the efforts of employees. There are some services that will not be available until temperatures reaches above freezing and the ice is cleared from the streets. These services include: 1) Jetting customer wastewater service lines that we normally do as a convenience to residents. 2) Small leak repair at meters. 3) Limb and rubbish pickup. 4) Trash dumping at the street department. When temperatures do warm up, many of you will have broken water lines. The city will do everything possible to get to all customers as quickly as it can when notified that about the leak.

"Please be patient and give us time to arrive. We are expecting numerous calls to City Hall and the police department and calling multiple times will delay our ability to respond. Please stay warm and safe through this trying time,"  wrote Jerald Brunson, the city of Rockdale public works director, in an email
