Tesla is growing its footprint in Texas even further with the electric vehicle maker reportedly leasing a 183,000-square-foot (a little over four acres) rail served building in Taylor’s RCR Logistics Park according to the Austin Business Journal.
The logistics park is located off US 79 at FM 3349 between Taylor and Hutto near Samsung.
This purchase will result in Tesla having over 1 million square feet of combined property in Kyle, Hutto and Taylor.
Tesla’s plans for the rail-served building in the RCR Taylor Logistics Park came about three months after Houston-based Partners Real Estate announced that it was building the facility. The company stated that the 183,000-square-foot building has been pre-leased but did not share additional details citing a non-disclosure agreement.
Neither Tesla nor Partners Real Estate have issued comments about the matter, which is no surprising for Tesla, which is known for operating under a veil of secrecy. Despite this, some Taylor officials have already expressed their support for the project including Williamson County Economic Development Partnership Executive Director Dave Porter and Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell.
