TWO MORE, COUNT NOW 42

Milam County lists more positive tests on Thursday

Milam County announced two more cases of COVID-19 early Thursday afternoon, making a total of three announced during the day.

Young said cases 41 and 42 were persons who tested positive out-of-county and are now back home.

That makes eight new cases for the week.

But Milam County still has no persons hospitalized as a result of the COVID-19 virus, he said.

Young said, as of early Thursday afternoon, there are 10 active cases in the county and the Milam County Health Department is monitoring about 30 persons believed to have been exposed.

The judge said his guess as to why so many new cases are being reported is the re-opening of Texas and the Memorial Day holiday.

Young said more testing is being scheduled sometime next week, noting tests will be in Rockdale, Milano and Cameron, not just the one (Milano) location as in previous tests.

He said test results from Milam County's three nursing homes have not yet been received.
