Lady Eagles pre-season schedule is: Friday, Caldwell at home at 4:30 p.m.; Feb. 27, Rice Consolidated in Altair at 4 p.m. and Feb. 28 at Caldwell, 10:45 a.m.;
MHS tied Mumford 0-0 in last week’s scrimmage.
Eagles open season
against Rockdale
Milano High School baseball team will play it’s first game against Rockdale at home.
The scrimmage is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
On Monday, they will take on St. Joseph at home at 4 p.m.
Their final game in February is a double header in Rockdale Feb. 29, 1 p.m.
THS golfers compete
at Caldwell Invitational
THS golfers played the Copperas Hollow Golf Course at Caldwell Invitational Golf Tournament, Feb.
13.
Last year’s regional qualifier Mason Drumm shot a 104 and Gabriel Ramthun
126. The girls team scores were: Emma Paxton 116, Janene Alcalar 120, Gwen Wright 124, Kloie Cargill 124 and Laycie Penney and Juliet Demaio 125.
The Thorndale golf team played also played in the Troy tournament Jan. 31 in Temple. Mason Drumm had the top score for his team with 112. Gabriel Ramthun shot at 147, Janene Alcalar 139, Laycie Penney 153 and Juliette Demaio 163.
Both teams play at Mustang Creek Country Club in the Thrall Invitational on March 16. Coach List Coelho said she will have a full team on the links after basketball season.
Bulldogs netters
gain experience
Thorndale doubles team of Kaelin Kuhl and Jordyn Bodiford placed second at the Rockdale Tennis Tournament last week. The mixed doubles team of Katie Briones and Maddox Rubio placed seventh and Chloe Grimm took sixth in singles play. Brynn Huner and Ridic Meraz also competed in Rockdale.
JAN. 30—Georgetown Tennis Tournament results were: Mixed doubles – Katie Briones/Maddox Rubio lost to Cortez/ Rohbrahn of Harker Heights 1-8 and to Maltsberger/Willis of A&M Consolidated 7-9. Brynn Huner/Ridic Meraz lost to Rose/Chavan of Westwood 1-8 and to Lane/Miller of A&M Consolidated 4-8. Girls doubles – Kaelin Kuhl/ Jordyn Bodiford def. Power/Penlay of Lago Vista 8-5 and lost to Beavis/Miller of Lampasas) 8-9. Girls singles – Chloe Grimm lost to S.Hohense of A&M Consolidated 2-8 and def. S.Reed of Vista Ridge 8-2 the lost to K.Mc-Cullough of Round Rock 1-6.
Varsity will play in Thrall on Wednesday, weather permiting according to Coach Lisa von Gonten. Their next matches are scheduled for March 26 at the Granger/ Taylor Tournament in Taylor. District play is April 2.
In junior varsity action, Wylie Barrett won third place in the Rockdale Junior Varsity Tennis tournament last Thursday. Teammates who competed in the tournament were Alex Kunze, Jaylyn Stutts, Anthony Vicknair, Alex Inocencio and McKenna Biar.
JAN. 28—Georgetown JV Tennis Tournament results were: Girls doubles – Alex Kunze/McKenna Biar lost to Castro/Richter of East View 6-8 and to Washington/Feliz of Georgetown 1-6. Boys doubles – Alex Inocencio/Anthony Vicknair def. Shah/Dalryimple of Round Rock 9-8 and lost to McDonald/Townsend of Georgetown 6-8. Boys singles – Wylie Barrett lost to R. Shine of Harker Heights 2-8 and def. M. Arthur of East View 8-6 and def. R. Miller of Belton 7-6 for third place.
Thorndale junior freshmen and junior varsity tennis teams will play: March 2 in Belton and March 4 in Belton.
THS softball team
pre-season schedule
Lady Bulldogs will play in the Brenham Tournament this weekend.
On Thursday the take on Marshall at 5 p.m. and host Brenham at 7 p.m.
On Friday they will play Navasota at 11 a.m. and Clear Creek at 3 p.m. Saturday they are scheduled to play Wylie at 10 a.m. and Clear Falls at noon.
They will play in the La Grange Tournament Feb. 27-29 before their first District 27-2A matchup in Holland at 6 p.m. The junior varsity will start at 4 p.m.
