Milam Count 4-H shooting sports contestants brought back numerous first-place wins, and more, from recent state competitions.
Rifle and pistol competitions were held in Manor.
San Antonio hosted the archery games.
Micah Holcombe, county extension agent, listed results for Milam competitors as follows:
Addie Reisner—1st, senior air pistol single shot rapid fire; 3rd, senior muzzleloading pistol bullseye; 4th, senior small bore pistol Camp Perry round; 5th senior air pistol silhouette.
5th, senior light rifle bullseye; 5th, senior small bore pistol silhouette; 5th, senior hunting and wildlife hunter wildlife management and ID; 5th, senior hunting and wildlife hunter skills and safety; 5th,senior hunting and wildlife hunting live fire.
She also competed in the archery games in San Antonio.
Paxton Reisner—1st, place senior hunting and wildlife hunter skills and safety, 1st senior hunting and wildlife hunter decision making; 1st,senior hunting and wildlife hunter wildlife management and ID.

2nd, senior two-compound aided field; 4th, senior two-compound aided modified 600; 4th, senior two-compound aided 3-D; 5th, senior two- compound aided wand; 3rd, compound aided team relay.
Jaedon Warren—2nd, senior two-compound aided 3-D; 3rd, senior two-compound aided field; 3rd, senior two-compound aided modified 600; 4th, senior two-compound aided wand.
“Since Patrick Dean graduated from high school in May, the state games were the last time that Patrick will shoot at a 4-H event,” Holcombe said.
“It is customary to have the graduate hang a shirt on the target and shoot his last arrow in front of all of the other contestants. His parents and other contestants also had a chance to shoot Patrick’s shirt,” she said.
He was active in 4-H Shooting Sports program for 12 years.
Holcombe said Dean’s parents, Tiny and Susan Dean, were recognized by the Milam County 4-H Shooting Sports Club for their 19 years of service.
