The Rockdale Noon Lion’s Club raised $4,000 during its 28th Annual Lions Club Scholarship Golf Tournament and helicopter golf ball drop on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Rock-dale Country Club. The team of Cruz Reyes, Ricky Gaines, Richard Towns and Floyd Byrd won first place in the tournament and a $500 cash prize. Second place and $260 went to Joe Cleveland, Homer Mowdy, Gerald Mortin and Billy Galbreath. The third place prize of $160 was won by Jeff King, Jeff Miller, David Akins and Brent Hasselbach. Caroline Wilde was the first-ever winner of the helicopter golf ball drop. There were 399 tickets and Wilde took home the $500 prize.
