Tigers fall 75-41 to 19th-ranked Bees Friday

A young Tiger squad was challenged at home Friday, when they went up against top-ranked Academy, where the Bees took the game 75-41.

Chris Perez led RHS with 14, Colton Bradshaw had 10 and Raymond McBride had five.

This contest marks the end of the first half of their district slate. The Tigers have yet to win a game with an 0-6 record

The Tigers have a young core with McBride as the only senior. His fellow starters are sophomore starters are Perez, Braden Thomas, Robert Owens and freshman Wyatt Windham.

LAST WEEK—Three days before, the Tigers were outgunned in the fourth when Caldwell went on a 17-7 run in the fourth quarter to win 49-47.

Rockdale got off to a fast start, leading 19-7 at the close of the first and led for much of the game until the final quarter.

Thomas had 14 points and Owens had 10.

COMING UP—On Friday, RHS hosts Cameron at home.

The team from across the river is 4-2 in District 19-3A and is coming off a 75-38 home win over Florence on Friday night.

They beat the Tigers 100-48 in their first meeting on Dec.22.

Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.

JUNIOR VARSITY—Rockdale’s JV were 1-1 in their games this past week.

On Tuesday, they took down Caldwell 49-48. Devon Hicks and Tristan Jackson led the team with 15 and 11 points.

The Tigers fell to Academy 63-38 Friday. Hicks and Jackson each had 14.
