On Friday, RHS soccer players of the past and the present met up at Tiger Stadium for the school’s second annual al alumni game, where the current Tigers came back to win, 2-1.
The stars of yesterday took the lead early when Chris “Chino” Olvera scored within the first five minutes of play. Later in the game, the Blue-and-Gold of now tied it up at one after Wilmer Sorman Sorto scored on a pass from Jose Tenorio. They would take the game in the final minute when Daniel Romero scored from outside the box.
Notable Tiger alumni that played include Olvera, Hagen Land, Marvin Mata, German Lopez, Ethan Hughes and many more.
The Tigers and Lady Tigers began their season with Lago Vista at home on Tuesday after press time. Both teams play next on Wednesday, Dec. 28, in Robinson. The Tigers are coached by Gilberto Rodriguez and the Lady Tigers are led by Shirley Lozano.
