Tiger soccer earned their second straight win on Thursday evening, avenging an early-season loss to Hearne with a 2-0 shutout over the Eagles on their own field .
Jose Tenorio and Daniel Castillo both scored for the Blue-and-Gold. The win comes after taking down Smithville 4-3 last Monday.
THIS WEEK—The Tigers had the early part of this week open, but head to La Grange on Friday. Game time is 6 p.m.
The Tigers fell to the Leopards on Jan. 31, in a match that was tied at 1, but was ultimately won by LHS 5-4 in a penalty-kick shootout.
DISTRICT—RHS is 2-6 in district play with five games left to play. Although they sit in last place, they are one game behind fifth place Cameron and sixth place Smithville and are just three games behind Hearne for the fourth and final playoff spot.
LADY TIGERS—For the girls, they play next on Saturday in Giddings.
Play is scheduled to start at noon.
Following their match with GHS, the Lady Tigers has three more games. They host La Grange on Feb. 28 and Cameron on March 5. Their season final is on March 11, in Smithville.
