For the third time in his high school career, Rockdale’s Jesus Bocanegra will compete at the UIL Cross Country state championships.
The Tiger junior competes on Saturday at Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park at 9 a.m.
Bocanegra f inished the 19-3A district meet in October with a silver medal and placed seventh overall at the Region III meet on Monday, Oct. 25, in Huntsville.
Leading up to district and regionals, Bocanegra won six different cross country meets this season, not losing a race until Oct. 1.
Other local state qualifiers include Milano’s Kadance Koenig, who will run on Friday at 11:40 a.m.
